Hello and thank you for following along on this new journey with me. To say it has been a whirlwind since closing the original brick-and-mortar store at the end of February is an understatement. Making the transition from a traditional store to an online-only model has been as smooth as one could hope for, and also filled with all the learning curves to be expected. My progress was also stunted slightly from being out of the office and on the move more than usual.
Soon after shuttering our first location, I took some time out to catch up on life experiences. Having a little freedom to roam has been the best part of making this transition! I went to Portland to visit one of my sisters and her husband, and meet their new bundle of joy.
I went to a special beach spot in Georgia to spend time with my best friend and play with her children, who all live so far away that this was a rare treat. She loves wearing Good Things, so naturally I turned part of our visit into a mandatory photo shoot and made her model my favorite spring dress style. When I find myself in such a beautiful part of the country it would be foolish not to, right?
I worked for the Bentonville Film Festival and immersed myself in the fantastic film world for a week, where I rubbed elbows with some of the nicest celebrities.
I created a few custom designs for a dear client who had four events in different cities for her recent nuptials and wedding celebrations.
I filled myself up with social engagements and creative endeavors that make my heart sing. I feel renewed and ready to pursue more challenges and opportunities.
After being homebound long enough to make progress on the website, I am pleased to say that we currently have over 150 items up and are adding to it weekly!
I have an Apparel Merchandising and Product Development student (the same program I graduated from) working with me this summer, Morgan White. This has been pure magic because everything is happening twice as quickly. She is so awesome!
Now that you are all caught up on our behind-the-scenes, this blog will be focused from here forward on our products and brands and all the reasons I feel so good about them. My intent is to inform, educate and pleasantly surprise you with beautiful, ethical and sustainably made goods that actually do some good rather than harm.
Thanks again for joining me on this part of the journey.
Sending all good vibes,
